Studio Dress Code

We allow dancers to wear any combination of dance attire - leotard, tights, leggings, tanks, shorts - that are form-fitting and allow staff to see proper alignment and technique in class. No loose clothing or denim for any class. Warm layers may be worn for warm-ups but should be removed at the request of staff as necessary.

3rd Grade and older Female Ballet Dancers should wear a leotard and tights only and have hair in a bun (or equivalent) for every class. No exceptions. No skirts during barre work, please.

We prefer pink ballet slippers, black jazz shoes, and black tap shoes. Here are specific needs for certain classes:

PreSchool and Kinder Ballet, Tumble, Hip-Hop - Bare Feet

Ballet/Tap Combination - Pink Ballet Shoes, Black Tap Shoes

Ballet/Jazz Combination - Pink Ballet Shoes, Black Jazz Shoes

Ballet - Pink Split-Sole Ballet Shoes

Pre-Pointe - Pink Split-Sole Ballet Shoes + Bare Feet (Convertible or Transition tights are required)

Pointe - Pink Pointe Shoes (visit Releve Dancewear to get sized for a pointe shoe that is appropriate and best suited for your feet.) Convertible or Transition tights are required.

Jazz - Black Slip-on Jazz Shoes

Hip-Hop - Tennis Shoes or Dance Sneakers (these shoes should have a clean outsole and be used solely for dance class/worn only in the dance studio)

Musical Theater - Black Slip-on Jazz Shoes

Middle School and High School Aged Dancers will need Black Character Shoes (Females only. Males still wear black slip-on jazz shoes)

Acro, Modern - Bare Feet

Middle School and High School Aged Modern Dancers may wear Skin Tone Dance or Apolla Shocks (The Performance, The Alpha, The Amp, or The Infinite - *with* Traction)
